Darkness

You might hear the terms “blackout” and “room-darkening.” Those are two different things. Fabrics can range from sheer (which softens and filters light) to blackout (which blocks the most light and offers the highest degree of privacy and light control). With room-darkening, the key is the fabric, color, and material type. Semi-opaque fabrics will darken a room, but do not necessarily completely eliminate light.
