Ideas for a Bathroom Remodel

Palm Beach Polysatin Shutters in the Bathroom
Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutters in the Bathroom

If you’re thinking about remodeling your bathroom, you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed. It’s a big undertaking and can be quite an investment. However, the return could be very well worth it. At Bretz Interiors serving the greater Denver area, we have a few ideas for you to think about if you’re considering a bathroom remodel. Check them out below!

Things to Consider

Bathrooms involve more functional features than you might initially think. You have to take into account a variety of aspects, including sinks, which should be positioned so they are easily accessible. Porcelain sinks are the most common and versatile, but other sink styles are worth looking into. Stainless steel, granite, and copper sinks can add a luxurious look to your bathroom. Choose unique sink accessories for a custom look. Remember space for storage. A closet is best, but large cabinets can also give you ample storage space and add to the custom look of your new bathroom. When hanging towel bars and mirrors, decide where to put them sooner rather than later. If you can, mark potential spots with painter’s tape first, then adjust for comfort. Natural beauty. Using real stone in your shower, on the walls, or as the floor brings a feel of nature to what can otherwise be a fairly stark room.

Window Treatments

If your bathroom has a window (or more than one), be sure to select the right window fashion on it to match your new aesthetic as well as to guarantee the right light filtering and privacy control. If you want a classic look, consider Vignette® Modern Roman Shades by Hunter Douglas. If your bathroom has warm tones, select an earth-tone fabric with subtle variations, to pick up the colors in your bath tile and cabinetry. For cool tones, select something from the gray family or slate blue. For a finishing touch to an elegant bathroom, a cute café curtain-style treatment could work well. Simply place the café curtain on the lower half of the window to ensure privacy while letting in plenty of light. Check out fabric options from our custom drapery options. Finally, Hunter Douglas EverWood® Alternative Wood Blinds are great for bathrooms because they hold up very well against the moisture. They come in a selection of premium crisp white and off-white colors and are easy to maintain.
